Web Database Interfaces

Thursday, February 17th, 2011

Do you have a database of customers, services, or products that you would like to allow your customers to search? What about producing a web site that can allow your customers to update what they publish on your site? How about allowing them to have a password to get on to certain areas of your site that you don’t want the general public to see? These are just some of the functions that can be achieved by your web site when they are linked with databases.

ABetter.com links web pages to primarily two different database systems, Microsoft’s Access, and MYSQL.

Access works great if you are only going to have ten or fifteen users logged onto a small traffic site. But if you plan a site that will generate lots of traffic, with lots of simultaneous users, you should start out with a beefy database like either MYSQL or Microsoft’s SQL Server.

If you want A Better Dot Com that can unleash the real power of the web, please consider a database driven site, and how that may enhance our online presence.
